Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: August 20, 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of Street Rental's websites, software, reservation technology, operator tools, payment-related workflows, connected-vehicle functionality, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By creating an account, using the Platform, submitting information through the Platform, or otherwise accessing Street Rental services, you agree to these Terms.

If you use Street Rental on behalf of a rental business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

If a separate Order Form, subscription agreement, implementation agreement, Founding Operator agreement, or other written agreement applies, that agreement controls to the extent it conflicts with these Terms.

Sections relating to Operator accounts, subscriptions, platform fees, and Operator obligations apply only to Operators and Operator Users. Renters remain subject to the applicable rental terms, policies, and rental agreement established by the independent rental Operator.

1. Definitions

Operator
An independent vehicle rental business using Street Rental.

An owner, employee, contractor, or authorized staff member accessing an Operator account.
Renter
A customer or prospective customer of an Operator interacting with a Street Rental-powered reservation or rental experience.

2. Street Rental's Role

Street Rental provides software and technology services to independent rental operators.

Street Rental is not, solely by providing the Platform:

  • owner of Operator vehicles
  • vehicle lessor
  • renter's rental-car company
  • insurer or insurance broker
  • vehicle manufacturer
  • transportation provider
  • guarantor of vehicle condition
  • party responsible for renter eligibility

The underlying rental transaction is between the Operator and Renter.

Operators remain responsible for vehicles, rental agreements, pricing, policies, insurance requirements, refunds, disputes, operational decisions, and legal compliance.

Street Rental may facilitate parts of the transaction technologically without becoming a party to the vehicle rental agreement.

3. Operator Accounts

Operators must provide accurate and current account/business information.

Operator Users must be authorized.

Operators are responsible for:

  • safeguarding credentials
  • controlling staff access
  • roles and permissions
  • disabling unauthorized access
  • activity performed through authorized accounts

Street Rental may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the Platform, users, payment systems, connected services, or security.

4. Operator Responsibilities

Each Operator independently controls its rental business.

Responsibilities include:

  • vehicle ownership/control
  • registration
  • maintenance and roadworthiness
  • required licenses and permits
  • insurance
  • rental pricing
  • taxes
  • renter eligibility
  • age requirements
  • driver's-license requirements
  • security deposits
  • rental agreements
  • cancellation/refund policies
  • fuel/mileage rules
  • pickup and return
  • vehicle availability
  • customer support
  • accident/claim handling
  • compliance with applicable laws

Street Rental provides tools but does not independently establish Operator policies.

5. Renters and Reservations

Reservations are for vehicles offered by independent Operators.

Reservation acceptance, availability, substitutions, eligibility, pricing, deposits, taxes, fees, insurance requirements, pickup, return, cancellation, and refunds are subject to the applicable Operator's policies.

Operators may require renters to provide:

  • identity information
  • driver's-license information
  • contact information
  • payment information through supported providers
  • acceptance of rental terms
  • other configured rental requirements

Street Rental does not guarantee renter eligibility or continued availability of a particular vehicle.

6. Traditional Rental and Scan & Go

Street Rental may support:

Traditional Rental

Operator-assisted workflows.

Scan & Go / Express

Digital or self-service workflows where enabled and supported.

Hybrid

Use of both operating models within an Operator's configured operation.

The Operator determines which operating model applies.

Availability of digital access, identity verification, connected-vehicle functions, or self-service features may depend on Operator configuration, vehicle compatibility, third-party availability, renter eligibility, and enabled features.

7. Payments

Payments may be processed through third-party providers such as Stripe.

Street Rental does not store raw payment-card numbers or card security codes when information is entered directly through a payment provider's secure systems.

Operators may use connected payment accounts to receive rental proceeds.

Payment-provider fees are separate from Street Rental platform fees unless expressly stated otherwise.

Street Rental may receive transaction IDs, payment statuses, amounts, references, dispute information, and related data necessary to operate payment workflows.

8. Street Rental Platform Fees

Operators agree to pay fees associated with their selected plan, Order Form, promotion, or agreement.

Fees may include:

  • monthly subscription fees
  • variable reservation/platform fees
  • separately agreed implementation charges
  • optional services
  • other expressly agreed amounts

Third-party payment-processing fees are separate unless expressly stated otherwise.

9. Eligible Reservation Revenue

For plans with percentage-based Street Rental fees:

Eligible Reservation Revenue means amounts successfully collected through Street Rental in connection with an eligible reservation, excluding:

  • refundable security-deposit authorizations or holds
  • refunded amounts
  • chargebacks
  • payment reversals
  • taxes collected for governmental authorities
  • payment-processor fees
  • amounts processed entirely outside Street Rental unless otherwise agreed

The applicable percentage and monthly cap depend on the Operator's plan or written agreement.

Security-deposit holds are not reservation revenue merely because they are authorized.

10. Founding Operator Program

The Street Rental Founding Operator Program is available to the first 20 approved Operators, subject to approval and applicable program terms.

Approved Founding Operators receive:

$0 monthly Street Rental platform subscription fee for the first 12 months following activation.

During that period:

  • Street Rental variable platform fee: 4% of Eligible Reservation Revenue
  • variable Street Rental platform-fee cap: $250 per month

The $250 cap applies only to the variable Street Rental platform fee.

It does NOT include unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • payment-processor fees
  • taxes
  • separately scoped implementation work
  • third-party provider charges
  • optional separately purchased services

After the initial 12-month period, the Operator may continue under an available Street Rental plan or another written agreement.

Participation is not transferable without Street Rental's written approval.

11. Security Deposits

Street Rental may provide technology supporting:

  • deposit authorization
  • holds
  • release
  • partial capture
  • full capture
  • settlement review

The Operator determines its security-deposit policies and remains responsible for lawful and appropriate use of deposit funds.

A vehicle return does not necessarily cause automatic settlement.

Certain settlement actions may require Operator review or appropriate permissions.

Payment authorization and capture remain subject to payment-provider systems, rules, and availability.

12. Identity and Driver Information

Operators may configure driver-information or identity-related requirements.

Depending on the workflow, information may be:

  • stored by Street Rental
  • submitted to an identity provider
  • maintained by a third-party provider while Street Rental receives status/reference information

Where identity services such as Stripe Identity are enabled, separate provider terms and privacy practices may apply.

Operators are responsible for determining what driver documentation is legally required for their rentals.

13. Connected Vehicle Services

Street Rental may provide connected-vehicle capabilities through third-party providers such as Smartcar where supported and configured.

Capabilities may include:

  • current vehicle location
  • vehicle-status information
  • supported remote vehicle actions
  • other supported telemetry

Functionality depends on:

  • vehicle compatibility
  • manufacturer systems
  • third-party services
  • network availability
  • Operator configuration

Street Rental does not guarantee uninterrupted connected-vehicle access.

Operators should maintain reasonable alternative access and operational procedures.

Street Rental must not be relied upon as an emergency vehicle-access service.

14. Automation and Communications

Street Rental may provide automated operational functions and communications.

Examples may include:

  • transaction-triggered messages
  • reservation events
  • payment/deposit events
  • operational status changes
  • other enabled workflows

Operators are responsible for:

  • ensuring communications are lawful
  • maintaining accurate recipient information
  • obtaining consent required for specific communication channels
  • reviewing configured business rules and message content

Delivery is not guaranteed and may depend on third-party providers.

15. AI and Advanced Assistance

Street Rental may introduce or provide AI-assisted or automated customer-assistance functionality where enabled.

Such functionality may support:

  • customer questions
  • rental guidance
  • business-rule assistance
  • other configured services

AI-generated or automated output may contain errors, be incomplete, become outdated, or require Operator review.

Operators remain responsible for rental policies and operational decisions.

AI or automated assistance must not be relied upon for:

  • emergency services
  • legal advice
  • insurance advice
  • safety-critical decisions
  • guaranteed navigation information

Availability and data practices may vary and will be described through applicable Platform notices and Street Rental's Privacy Policy.

16. Third-Party Services

Street Rental may integrate with or depend upon third-party providers for:

  • payments
  • identity verification
  • connected vehicles
  • maps
  • communications
  • hosting
  • data storage
  • authentication
  • other integrations

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies.

Street Rental is not responsible for outages, restrictions, changes, or actions caused solely by third-party services outside Street Rental's reasonable control.

17. Operator Content and Data

Operators retain their rights in business content and data they provide.

This may include:

  • business information
  • vehicle information
  • rental policies
  • pricing
  • images
  • website content
  • customer information

Operators grant Street Rental the limited rights necessary to host, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use that content to provide and improve the Platform.

Operators represent that they have the rights and legal authority necessary to provide submitted information.

18. Street Rental Intellectual Property

Street Rental and its licensors retain rights in:

  • Platform software
  • source code
  • interfaces
  • designs
  • workflows
  • documentation
  • trademarks
  • logos
  • proprietary technology

Use of the Platform does not transfer ownership.

Operators receive only a limited right to use the Platform during an authorized subscription or agreement.

19. Acceptable Use

Users may not:

  • use the Platform unlawfully
  • attempt unauthorized access
  • bypass security or permissions
  • interfere with Platform operation
  • introduce malware
  • misuse connected-vehicle controls
  • submit fraudulent payment activity
  • impersonate another person/business
  • use renter/customer data unlawfully
  • scrape or extract Platform data without authorization
  • facilitate illegal vehicle rentals
  • reverse engineer where prohibited by applicable law

Street Rental may restrict or suspend access for material violations.

20. Privacy

Use of personal information through Street Rental is governed by the Street Rental Privacy Policy and, where applicable, agreements between Street Rental and Operators.

Operators may independently have privacy obligations to renters and customers.

Operators remain responsible for providing legally required renter-facing notices concerning their own independent data uses.

21. Security

Street Rental uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect Platform data.

No internet-connected system can be guaranteed absolutely secure.

Users are responsible for maintaining account security and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.

22. Service Availability

Street Rental works to maintain reliable Platform availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Interruptions may result from:

  • maintenance
  • updates
  • internet/network failure
  • payment-provider outages
  • connected-vehicle provider outages
  • manufacturer systems
  • hosting/infrastructure providers
  • circumstances outside reasonable control

Operators should maintain reasonable operational contingency procedures.

23. Platform Changes

Street Rental may update, improve, modify, add, or discontinue Platform functionality.

Where a material change significantly affects a paid service, Street Rental may provide reasonable notice where appropriate.

Preview, beta, pilot, experimental, or early-access functionality may change or be discontinued.

24. Suspension and Termination

Street Rental may suspend or terminate access because of:

  • material Terms violations
  • unlawful activity
  • fraud
  • security threats
  • nonpayment
  • payment-system misuse
  • unauthorized connected-vehicle activity
  • material risk to Street Rental or other users

Operators may terminate according to their subscription, Order Form, or written agreement.

Termination does not eliminate amounts already owed.

Post-termination data handling is governed by applicable agreements, Privacy Policy, law, and Street Rental's then-current retention practices.

25. Warranties and Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Platform is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE."

Street Rental does not warrant that:

  • the Platform will always be available
  • every integration will operate without interruption
  • connected-vehicle services will always function
  • automated or AI-generated output will always be accurate
  • an Operator will achieve any particular financial or operational result

Street Rental does not provide legal, tax, insurance, or regulatory advice through the Platform.

26. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Street Rental will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, revenue, business interruption, or loss of data.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Street Rental's aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Platform will not exceed the amounts paid by the applicable Operator to Street Rental during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

27. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, an Operator agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold Street Rental harmless from third-party claims arising from:

  • Operator rental operations

  • natural disasters
  • severe weather
  • widespread network outages
  • governmental action
  • labor disruptions
  • third-party infrastructure failures
  • manufacturer/connected-vehicle outages
  • payment-network interruptions

30. Changes to These Terms

Street Rental may update these Terms from time to time.

Material changes will be communicated through reasonable means where required.

The effective date should be updated when material changes are published.

Continued use after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.

31. Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.

32. Waiver

Failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.

33. Assignment

Operators may not assign their Platform agreement without Street Rental's consent unless a written agreement permits it.

Street Rental may assign rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, financing, or sale of substantially all relevant assets, subject to applicable law.

34. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with:

  • applicable Order Forms
